Change is hard! I think every person can agree with me on that one. The preparation of knowing that things are about to change, the act of changing that leads to adjusting. It’s all just hard. But goodness! How awesome is it so experience new things! As nerve racking it may be sometimes, I love being surrounded by new faces, new perspectives & new stories. The Lord didn’t call us to stay the same forever. There is change. There is growing; and it can be so much fun!

About a month ago in Costa Rica, my squad was told that we would be saying goodbye to our old teams and entering Panama with a brand new team. We got to soak in one last month our current teams then my squad met in San Jose, CR! — one night there we all sat in a park & were given a small folded paper with the names of the girls on my new team. Everyone spread out across this open park. I walked over to the bare sidewalk and took a seat. Held that paper tightly in my hands and prayed. praying over the change. my new team who was unknown & my old team who I knew so well. I sat and prayed until the Lord left me with full peace by opening the paper and reading those names on it. Finally I opened it. Read the name of the 6 girls who were going to be my people for the next 3 months & my heart literally did a flip. I was overwhelmed with joy. I felt the Lord’s tight hug around me as I knew He placed us all on this new team so strategically. we all met back in the center of the park congratulating + encouraging the people of our old teams then rejoicing + loving on our new teams. My team (the road) greeted each other with the tightest hugs. Huddling in a circle with our arms wrapped around each other. Screaming with joy. Jumping up and down. Eyes sparkling. Smiles beaming. It’s a memory that replays in my head so vividly. This first, sweet moment set the stage for our next three months & we were pumped!

so let’s meet my new team, woo! The name that was prayed over my team by our squad mentor was “the road.” She told us that we will be a team who seeks out those who are searching & invites them into what the Lord has for them. Which is exactly what we have been doing in just these short weeks of knowing each other deeper. We are a team who is hungry for the Lord and what He has to offer. We have eager but patient hearts. We are vulnerable. Our hearts break for what breaks the Lords. We are gals who like to celebrate. We are a team that radiates joy. & so much more! The best thing is that we get to grow in all these things together. We get to set the bar for each other & have fun while doing it. Fun is honestly an understatement to describe this team. Each of us are seriously hilarious. I could write a novel about how amazing this team is & the growth we are capable of, but I thought what better way to describe my team than using the things that come from the voices of team road!
