Lord I saw you – I went outside to search for the stars & saw a sky of absolute nothingness. Blank & bare. Not a star or a twinkle in sight. Looking up wondering where to find the Lord… where to see Him. I kept telling myself to “remember the stars.” I have been fascinated by the stars ever since I can remember. Just like the sun, they are my remembrance. They are what remind me of His goodness & power. But I looked up at the sky this time & they weren’t there. Just the naked darkness of night. So I stood there & said “God, now what?!” and He said to me “look around, I am everywhere. Don’t you see me?”

A total perspective change.

Everything became 1000x more beautiful. I saw everything around me for what it truly was; God’s masterpiece. I looked up at the sky again, focusing on this one section, I stared then closed my eyes. A stirring image of His presence floated in my mind. I envisioned Him right there. In the sky right in front of me. I felt so small. Like I was standing in His hands. realizing His vastness, that He is bigger… He is greater. That He created all of this with His bare hands. ALL OF THIS WITH HIS BARE HANDS! like… uhm, okay. wow. I am just a mere speck in creation. There is so much that God has made in this world that I have yet to even see or experience. Absolutely insane.

“He determines the number of stars and calls them each by name. Great is our Lord and mighty in power; His understanding has no limit.” Psalm 147:4-5

  1. OOF that’s some powerful imagery. He is vast and mighty and omnipresent – we only need the eyes to see and focus on Him!
